Sweet Smell of Success (1957) - Movie Review
Sweet Smell of Success (1957) is arguably one of the best Film Noirs ever made. Strong Performance from Burt Lancaster & Tony Curtis with the Dialogues to die for make Sweet Smell of Success a masterpiece in Film Noir Genre.
Directed By: Alexander Mackendrick
Review: A Cookie Full of Arsenic
Remember how Robert Mitchum was scary in Night of the Hunter, Nurse Ratched in One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest or Darth Vader in Star Wars ? Well, Burt Lancaster could take them down easily, that’s how scary is Burt Lancaster as J.J. Hunsecker in this movie. His character is rigid necked ice cold columnist who uses clipped words who can literally destroy anyone just with his voice and those steel rimmed glasses ( Oh, My !! )
Burt Lancaster performance as J.J. Hunsecker is arguably one of the strongest performance of all time.
Match me, Sidney
